Waiting on that new detector!

Well, after polling everybody I could think of, I finally made the decision to try the new Minelab Explorer SE. It was actually a tossup between the SE and the new Fisher F75. The last detectorist I talked to liked the F75 better than the SE, but I wanted to try a multi-frequency machine; the F75 is not such. So, now I’m waiting to try the new toy on all my old “hunted out” spots to see how much detectors have beenĀ improved. Report to follow.

  1. I just purchased an Explorer SE. Yesterday, I spent ALL DAY making my best attempt to understand this machine. I am sorely dissappointed and completely agree with another user that posted this:

Everytime I have went out with the SE, I have ended the day wanting to wrap it around a tree. Last time I checked, I thought a hobby was supposed to be fun. Well it’s no laughs and giggles with the SE. So far, I have read the manual about a dozen times, read everything on the forums I can get my hands on but I still just DON”T GET IT. I never give up and don’t plan to. However, if things don’t get better there may be a mangled SE at the bottom of some cliff.

  2. Thank you for that info on the explorer se. The Garrett GTI 2500 is equally a peice of junk…

  3. Well, there’s another machine to put on my “do not buy” list. Thanks, Rex.
